Small flow meters are devices for new and older installations where flow measurements are required for small and minute quantities at high temperatures and pressures. They are mainly intended for use in the areas of small boiler rooms, furnaces, heaters, filling equipment, cooling process control, chemical industry. These flow meters are reliable measurement methods.

The measuring element is a measuring float, which is loosely fitted into a conical tube in which it can move up and down. The position of the float corresponds to the value on the feature in the measuring tube. This is dependent on the flow rate of the medium to be measured - it is the determining measure of the flow value. The flow rate is read on a scale engraved on the graduated tube. In SKM flowmeters, there is a small piston whose movement is converted by the spring force and the counterflow of the measuring medium.

Common measuring media: water, air, common types of transparent liquids and gases. The SMK series is also suitable for oils and opaque viscous liquids.

Based on the construction of the float flowmeter, no ramping (calming) sections are required on the pipe.

On request, the flow meters can be equipped with limit switching with reed contact (SGK+SKM), inductive switching, metering valve or explosion-proof design (SGK). Thanks to the limit switches, they can be used as detectors. The SKM system can be ordered in a horizontal version.
