Flow Meter with Bypass and Orifice

Bypass and orifice flowmeters are special flowmeters. They are equipment for new and older installations where flow measurement is required. They are intended for use measuring large flow rates in the areas of technical building facilities, control and regulation of tanks and swimming pools.

These devices operate on the basis of pressure differentials. They use a pressure gradient on the pipe constriction that is proportional to the quadratic of the flow rate. The resulting pressure differential is displayed on a scale as a straight flow value. For bypass instruments, a proportional relationship between main flow and bypass is used, where in a conical float tube the main flow value is read directly on the scale of the tube glass. 

If the pressure tap upstream of the orifice is connected by a pipe to the pipe downstream of the orifice, partial flow will flow through this pipe. This partial flow is proportional to the flow in the main pipe. The partial flow can be turned on and off as required by installing two ball valves in the bypass line.

Common measuring media: water, air, common types of transparent liquids and gases. Also suitable for non-conductive liquids (mineral oils, acids, alkalis).

The position of the indicator is not dependent on the direction of flow, flow and the flowmeter can be installed in any position.

Flow meters can be equipped with limit switching on request. Thanks to the limit switches they can be used as detectors. Flow meters can be ordered with extended bypass.
