Swing-valve flowmeters are devices for new and older installations where flow measurement is required. They are intended for use in medium and large flow measurement in water treatment plants, power plants, technical buildings, waterworks, tanks and swimming pools, etc.

The measuring element is the butterfly valve itself, which is deflected by the flow of the medium on a pin. The deflection angle corresponds to the value on the measuring scale with a pointer hand. This is dependent on the flow rate of the medium to be measured - it is the determining measure of the flow value. The flow rate is read on the sight glass of the scale. In KFS flow meters, the damper is spring controlled and can be fitted for both flow directions. The transfer of the flow rate value from the flap angle to the scale is controlled magnetically.

Common measuring media: water, air, common types of transparent liquids and gases. Also suitable for non-conductive liquids (mineral oils, acids, alkalis) and very viscous liquids with a high solid content and gases.

Based on the construction of the float flowmeter, no ramping (calming) sections are required on the pipeline.

On request, flow meters can be equipped with limit switching with reed contact or explosion-proof versions. Thanks to limit switches, they can be used as detectors. The KFS can be ordered with a totalizer.
